Tony
Wrenn · Owner
Tony Wrenn is the owner of The Music Loft in Durham and also the
guitarist for The Castaways, one of the area's premier bands. Tony
has been in the music business for most of his life. In the late
1970s, Tony worked for Les Howard Music in Durham and B&B and
Burgner music in Chapel Hill before coming to work at The Music
Loft.
With 25 years in the retail music business, he has dedicated his
life to music. Tony has recorded with MCA records (The Still Creek
Band) and CBS records (The Coulters). He has also done many jingles
and studio sessions with other artist.

Tim Bjorklund
· Guitars
I have been teaching music in the Durham-Chapel Hill area for over
15 years. Retail salesperson for 13 of those years.
In 1995, I started setting up concerts at Alltel Pavilion in Raleigh,
NC were I have worked with some of the biggest names in the music
industry. I have also tuned the pianos at Alltel Pavilion since
1997 for such artist as James Taylor, Tony Bennett, Lyle Lovett,
Joe Sample, Lillith Fair 97-98, and others. I teach guitar at The
Music Loft as well as sell behind the counter part-time.

Ed Butler ·
Drums
Ed has worked at The Music Loft since 1984. He also plays music;
all styles of music. From blues to bluegrass, jazz to rock, gospel
to country, avant-garde and improv to folk/celtic/arabic or world
music, Ed is comfortable in all styles. And on all stages!
Ed has traveled all over the globe performing in almost every conceivable
kind of arena. Small Irish pubs in the U.K. and Chapel Hill to giant
music festivals in front of thousands in Winnipeg, Germany, and
Morocco. And to cap it all off, Ed is active in the theater, with
the Tony Award winning Red Clay Ramblers, and a local childrens'
theater group called Jelly Educational Theater - winners of the
2000 Indy Award for excellence. Ed brings a wealth of knowledge
and experience to the already knowledgeable staff at The Music Loft.

Joel Jones ·
Basses
Joel has played bass for over 30 years and has over 25 years of
professional experience in the retail music business. In addition,
Joel is very talented at repairing and setting up guitars and other
instruments.
As a bassist, Joel has played everything from rock to pop. Currently,
he plays for the Nomads. You can catch Joel performing at different
events around the Triangle area.

Bryon Settle
· Guitars
Bryon Settle has a 25 year history in the music scene of North Carolina.
He has toured the U. S. and beyond with the Pressure Boys, Trailer
Bride, Tift Merrit, The Patio Kings, and many more. Bryon has engineered
and produced dozens of recordings as owner/operator of the legendary
Yellow Recording. Bryon is currently playing with his band, Lud,
and has recently joined the new instrumental band, Killer Filler.
Bryon's day gig for the last ten years has been with The Music Loft
where he also teaches guitar. He teaches most styles to beginner
and intermediate students. He also helps the advanced guitarist
with tone and execution. Bryon's hours of instruction are: Monday
through Thursday, 1pm-6pm. Give him a call if your guitar playing
is in a rut.
